Design of the adaptive reuse of an existing memorial space honoring fallen soldiers from the Borough of Brooklyn who served in World War II into a café in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn. The project balanced contemporary programmatic needs with the preservation of the site’s commemorative character, ensuring that the memorial’s historical and civic significance remained central to the space.
